Face to Face and Online class update

Well the weather has well and truly changed, and Autumn has arrived with the same rainy gusto of Summer!

With that in mind, please do layer up if your coming to face to face classes. Bring a blanket for relaxation, and a pillow too if you really want to get comfortable :)

Our Face to Face classes will be having a break mid October for half term, so on October 27th there will be no class at The Nest. We return November 3rd, classes will be available to book next week.

There will be no online class on October 16th. I’m taking my own advice, slowing down, taking some time off and relaxing!

Online classes are still only £10 per month, in October there will 4 LIVE classes held on the Saturdays throughout the month, you’ll also get recorded hatha, vinyasa, core or relaxation classes sent to your inboxes so keep your eye out! You can continue with online classes or re-join by sending payment here

I hope those of you who did our Letting Go Meditation have started to cross things off their lists…

There are 3 weeks left of Family and Children’s Yoga at Queens’ Park Leisure Centre.

Family Yoga is held on Monday at 5:15pm, Kids Yoga age 3+ Tuesday at 4:15pm and Kids age 8+ is on Wednesday at 4:15pm.

To book any of the classes, call 01744 671717 to speak to reception.

I’m also back at Hot Buddha with a Halloween Special Family Yoga Session, you can find out more here

I hope to see you soon, online or in person, and if I don’t, have a wonderful October, Jan x

Face-to-Face classes are Back!
by Jan 28 Feb, 2021

Lockdown season three is ending soon and I know this one has been harder than the others, I feel it too. If you have any spare time and you’re wanting to learn the science behind well-being I highly recommend this course by Professor Laurie Santos, it’s free to enrol at the moment. If you don’t have time to do the course, it takes 10 weeks…here are some ways to help you feel a little happier!

  • Gratitude - can improve your relationships, your physical and psychological health and self esteem, improve your sleep pattern and reduce anxiety.

  • Kindness - can increase feelings of happiness, not just yours but the people who you are kind too, a double dose of goodness!

  • Meditation - I know, I understand, it’s difficult to find time to sit still and do nothing, moving through your yoga class with your breath is a moving meditation, so you’re kind of already doing it. The meditation that makes the most difference to you and other people? Metta or Loving Kindness, another good reason to put a little kindness in your life!

  • Exercise - Improves your mood, boosts your energy, helps you to sleep better, strengthens your bones and muscles (especially after you’ve reached a certain age) and yes yoga does count, another double dose of goodness!

  • Social Connection - not only improves feelings of well-being and boosts self-esteem, it can also strengthen your immune system and lengthen your life! I know this one has been really difficult so reach out to someone even if it’s a text, email or video chat, anything is better than nothing!

And my Doctors favourite words of advice… make sure you’re drinking enough water!
